  29. I know that disconnecting the phone sounds silly, but it really made
  30. my Sportster to recognise the ring. I've verified this also with two
  31. different phones which both work well.

  33. I read from some article in this newsgroup (just few hours ago)
  34. that Sportster would be very sensitive what comes to voltage level
  35. of the ring tone. If the level of the ring tone, provided by the line,
  36. is just above the specified minimum it could happen that the connected
  37. phone drops the voltage of the ring below the modem treshold. To be
  38. honest there exists another, connected, phone in my house which I
  39. suppose to be directly connected to same line (parallel to modem).
  40. How many parallel devices we may expect to connect to same line
  41. without problems ?

  43. I bought the modem from Canada, using it (illegally ?) today in 
  44. The Netherlands and I don't know the specs. Neither have the
  45. equipments for measuring the line/modem/phone. Facing the facts,
  46. should I expect much respect for my blames ?
